Back | HomeTomorrow (Thursday) will see scattered showers for everyone with perhaps the far southeast of England staying driest. Between the showers (some of which should turn thundery) will be cumulus to 3,500 ft, so there’s plenty of potential for local soaring or short tasks. Wind around 5 knots from the south or southwest at the surface, and 10-15 knots from the same directions at height.
Friday has dried out considerably and now should be a fairly useful soaring day, especially in the east of England. The north and the far west remain looking a bit too wet or cloudy. Probably a fair amount of cirrus around though.
Weekend remains looking wet for both days.

It’s not just gliding clubs that are threatened by the proposed “eco”towns. Leicester airfield is also under threat, and there’s a petition to save it.
(The message about this was sent to me on 18 June, but was trapped by my spam filter—-the only false positive yet—-and I’ve only just seen it. Sorry!)
