Back | HomeKnew I’d forgotten to do something…
The left sidebar has grown again which must mean that the Met Office is out painting the country red—-yes, severe gale warnings for much of England and Wales. I’m a little surprised they didn’t issue them yesterday (Thursday) when the event went cross-model, but better to be sure I guess. Monday afternoon and evening are going to be very rough, although don’t forget that “severe gale warning” is one below “storm warning”, which is the one when you can expect your roof to visit your neigbour’s garden. Still, no doubt loads of trucks will end up on their sides, your trailer will go for a walk across your airfield unless you secure it, etc. Going to be worst in the southwest.
Tomorrow (Saturday) will be cloudy and damp, base about 2,000 ft. Wind some 15-20 knots from the southwest. Sunday showery in places with about 15 knots of southwesterly wind.
We’ve already talked about Monday, while Tuesday will also be cloudy, wet and somewhat windy (not as much as Monday).
Just noticed that the BGA page for the venue for the conference tomorrow lists a helipad as part of the facilities. Who’s going by helicopter then, and can I have a lift?!

The BGA Conference venue might have had a helipad but it had totally inadequate car parking. The grass verges were chock-a-block with cars. I couldn’t find anywhere (no signs) and was told - very politely - that my car was in danger from the golfers. I eventually found a safe spot but certainly it needed initiative. I was not alone in my difficulties.
The conference was good (Pete Harvey and John Williams were not to be missed) although I didn’t stay too long after lunch so can’t say much about the pm activities.
