Early outlook forecast

Back | Home

Tonight (Tuesday night) a cold front will cross leaving Wednesday a lovely sunny day with a wind backing to 10-15 knots from the west by afternoon—-quite possibly enough for Nympsfield’s ridges again.

Thursday looks very wet and pretty windy! Good job the rivers have had some time to drain down since the recent wet period. It’s another cold front which again will leave Friday dry and clear, and again with 10-15 knot winds from the northwest.

Interestingly Saturday has a bit of a ridge to it, this time from a weak high out in the Atlantic. The result is more northwesterly winds, probably carrying snow showers into North Wales and northwestern England. A little bit early to look for signs of wave yet—-will have a better idea tomorrow evening. Of course if it’s unstable enough for showers wave is unlikely!

Sunday is currently shown as developing a deep low north west of Scotland, bringing strong southerly winds across the country and rain at times.

Next forecast on Wednesday at the usual time.
