Thursday

The rest of today will remain generally grey and dull (though there’s a lot of wave about especially over Wales).

Tomorrow (Friday) will see the southwesterly wind increase to around 20 knots while rain pushes into the west reaching central areas by noon and London and East Anglia by dusk, though Kent and Sussex should stay dry all day. Saturday will be equally rough and will again see rain in the west as a low scoots across the top of Scotland trailing a trough down the country.

Sunday, however, sees a ridge following in behind the low bringing fresh clear skies and a northwesterly breeze of about 10 knots. Maybe not quite enough for Nympsfield and Booker’s ridges, but will be close.

Booker’s blog
Talking of Booker, they’ve started a flying news blog! As you all know I’m a fan of these and it’s good to see another one—-keep it up guys. I’m adding it to the “Flying news” sidebar too, which you can use to see what’s been happening around the country. You might be surprised at how much soaring takes place in the winter!
